As the summer sun warms the coastal waters, Myrtle Beach is a bustle of activity. Since the 4th of July happens to be right at the peak of vacation season, the Grand Strand offers a full day of events. And who wouldn’t want to celebrate our nation’s independence at the beach! Here are a few of the events to look forward to this July 4th:
- Fireworks Extravaganza at Broadway at the Beach: Enjoy a stunning fireworks show over Lake Broadway on July 4th at 10 p.m. The reflections on the lake amplify the spectacle, making it a must-see event. It’s free and promises to be a spectacular display1.
- Independence Day 5K: For the early risers, kick off your July 4th with a morning run at The Market Common. There’s also a 1-mile fun run for those looking for a shorter distance2.
- Music on Main: In North Myrtle Beach, Catch The Entertainers for a free outdoor concert on Main Street, North Myrtle Beach on July 4th2.
- Salute from the Shore: Witness a parade of military aircraft flying overhead to honor the USA’s armed forces on July 4th at 1 p.m. The planes depart from Cherry Grove and head south along the beach3. Here is the schedule (times are approximate):
- Murrells Inlet 40th Annual Boat Parade: Watch beautifully decorated boats sail by on July 4th at 6 p.m., starting from Garden City Point3.
- Surfside Beach 4th of July Celebration: Enjoy music and fun at Memorial Park from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on July 4th3.
- Shore Drive Golf Cart Parade: You can start the festivities right in our own neighborhood with the Shore Drive Golf Cart parade
